Makerspace & Emerging Technology

I support makerspace environments through hands-on experience with fabrication tools, iterative prototyping, robotics/STEM resources, and technology-enabled programming. My Industrial Design training includes laser cutting, digital fabrication workflows. My creative journey includes sewing, Silhouette machines, and traditional craft techniques such as bookbinding, hand stitching, knitting, paper crafting, weaving, and woodworking. I apply these skills to create accessible, creative learning experiences for youth and community members, helping patrons explore emerging technologies with confidence and curiosity.

Projects

3D Printing Keychain Program

I designed a children’s makerspace program introducing 3D printing through personalized keychains. The workshop teaches basic CAD concepts, customization, and safe makerspace practices. Participants learn how digital models become physical objects, building foundational digital literacy and creative confidence.

STEAM Workshops

I facilitated STEAM-inspired workshops that integrate creativity, cultural storytelling, and hands-on making. These sessions introduced participants to paper cutting, bookbinding, and papercraft techniques, emphasizing tool safety, iterative creation, and accessible entry points into makerspace-style environments. My Industrial Design training supports my ability to break down complex making processes into safe, beginner-friendly steps.

Robotics & STEM Resource Support

I supported robotics and STEM learning by coordinating circulation of Bee Bots, Micro:bits, LEGO Spike, Sphero kits, and other hands-on technology resources. This work involved ensuring devices were charged, functional, complete, and ready for classroom use — mirroring the equipment-readiness workflows required in library makerspaces.

Makerspace Philosophy & Design

My makerspace approach is grounded in user-centered design, accessibility, and creative exploration. Drawing from my Industrial Design background, I support environments where patrons can experiment with fabrication tools, digital creation, and traditional crafts. I have hands-on experience with laser cutters, sewing machines, Silhouette cutters, knitting, weaving, woodwork, and papercraft — enabling me to support a wide range of creative technologies and making styles.

Traditional & Craft-Based Making

In addition to digital fabrication, I bring extensive experience with traditional craft techniques including sewing, knitting, weaving, woodwork, and papercraft. These skills allow me to support makerspaces that blend digital and analog creation, ensuring patrons of all ages and skill levels can participate meaningfully in creative technology environments.

#PlaceForAll150 — Community Art & Cultural Engagement

#PlaceForAll150 was a full-day community art initiative created in partnership with Culture Days and the Varley Art Gallery. As a co-organizer, I supported grant applications, sponsorships, community partnerships, branding, and workshop facilitation. Participants explored identity and culture through collaborative painting and creative expression. This project demonstrates my ability to design inclusive, community-centered programming.
